🔍 Here are the steps to perform a control effectiveness assessment:

1️⃣ Define an assessment plan with assessment areas selected based on the weaknesses identified in your risk assessment.

2️⃣ Define assessment criteria for each assessment area. Ensure to assess the effectiveness of your program, your policies/procedures, and your technical controls.

3️⃣ Take corrective action(s) where needed based on the assessment results.

Make sure to carry out the assessments frequently, and monitor improvements, or any shortcomings.
